Be careful: immediate fine if energy label is missing!

The "non-obligation" is now really gone
Until recently, providing an energy label when selling was also mandatory, but sellers sometimes took the risk of not providing the label because the chance of a fine was minimal. A sample check was carried out and in many cases the option was subsequently offered to supply the label. If this obligation was not met, the fine was €405.

The new regulations came into effect on July 3 and fines of €170 can be imposed immediately. There is no longer any option to get around this by submitting it.

Reason enough to request the label for transfer and present it to the buyer and notary.

This is how you apply for an energy label
An energy label can be requested via www.energielabelvoorwoningen.nl. You must log in with your DigiD to view your home. The home(s) you own are linked to your data and you can request a label via a questionnaire about the home. At the end, you select an expert who checks and finalizes the label and sends the label to you. This will cost you a few euros.

It is also possible to hire a company to create the label. They come by for this purpose and record all the data. It is good to know that a label is valid for 10 years and that you therefore remain responsible for it for a long time.
